The more we visit this park, the less we want to come back. It's sad that it is the closest park to our house. The way this park has declined over the years it's amazing to us that it is still even up and running.
Yesterday we took all four kids to the park just for about two hours. First of all, we were shocked to learn that they have reduced the minimum age for charging the kids from 3 to two. Yet, the children's areas is not that great at all and the kids really can't do much at all there because they have RAISED just about all of the height restrictions. In the main children's area they have about 8 rides total and only about half of them were operating yesterday. Plus they had operators running from ride to ride, so they'd close down one children's ride and open up another one for a few rounds, then close that one down and go back to the first ride.
In another children's area, they used to have 3 rides, and now have removed one and only one of those two rides was operating yesterday.
Many of the height limits that used to be 40 inches (meaning Noelle could finally ride them this year) are now at 42 inches, so once again this year she is a TINY bit shy of being able to ride.
One of the kids rides yesterday, the little airplanes, required each child 42 inches or under to have ANOTHER child at least 42 inches to ride with them, but no adult could ride it. So I was in the children's area with 3 children that all wanted to ride but none of them could ride unless I had Nicolas there to ride with them. When Frank returned from riding some bigger rides with Nicolas, Nicolas was nice enough to ride this ride with all 3 of the kids, one at a time.
Anyway, at least we killed a few hours with the kids outside and thankfully we decided to go early as we had thunderstorms and rain for the rest of the afternoon and were stuck inside with the kids. Our nephew Zach seemed to have a good time too. Here's a few more pictures.
Our last ride of the day was the carousel because Zach really wanted to ride it. We hopped on and then he insisted on riding on a BENCH! Great. By the way, we noticed that the carousel was missing several entire rows of animals in areas. Just sad.
The little kids LOVE these swings and they go pretty fast. Zach wanted nothing to do with them though.
Zach also insisted on riding the "BIG TEACUPS" and Frank was excited to take the three kids on it. Noah and I aren't fond of spinning rides so I figured we'd sit that ride out, but Noah said he wanted to ride it with me so we got in our own non-spinning cup. Frank said he started spinning the cup really fast with Noelle, Nicolas and Zach with him until Zach started looking pretty unhappy and then he stopped and they all had to keep the cup from spinning and the other kids were not happy about that one. I guess next time Zach will ride with me and Noah in the non-spinning cup!
